Our team is driven to provide the best support possible, by successfully assisting in closing deals to meet and exceed SAP's target of making the world run better. The Commercial Finance Expert is fully integrated with sales, to provide deal support and proactively address issues.
Within this role you will:
Review on premise and cloud license agreements to ensure they are accounted for properly. Be able to understand changes in business and regulatory environments to ensure compliance.- Work with Sales, Field Pricing, Controlling, Legal and Contracts to ensure license agreements are structured in accordance with SAP's Revenue Recognition and IFRS15 policies.
- Act as the single point of contact in complex revenue recognition matters and critical non-routine transactions, proactively proposing alternative, more preferable or simpler transaction setup or deal structures.
- Promote the idea of One Deal Support and ensure business partnering with the leader of their assigned Market Unit Sales team.
- Engage in all lines of business and gain and understanding of the end-to-end process sales process
- Perform controls and procedures related to the monthly close.
- Keep current on the latest Revenue Recognition training content & programs.
- Develop a strong relationship with the assigned regional Market Unit and provide training and guidance on new policies.
- Professionally interact with KPMG during their quarterly reviews and the annual audit procedures.
- Engaged in SOX control and review activities during the month end closing
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting- 5 years of relevant work experience
- CPA and/or Big 4 public accounting experience, highly preferred
- Willingness to develop thorough knowledge of IFRS15 / ASC 606 on revenue recognition and SAP’s policies and practices
- Inquisitiveness and critical thinking skills
- Problem solver with confidently affirmative attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under time pressure and deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks and projects
- Team player and self-starter
