About Us
The M365 Administrator will report to the Global Head of Cloud Collaboration Platforms at SAP. The team is part of the SAP Intelligent Enterprise Solutions (IES) organization led by our Chief Information Officer.
The main objective of the Cloud Collaboration Platforms team is to provide our internal SAP user base with the best Collaboration & Productivity tools, available to them, across the M365 platform, and Slack Enterprise Grid. The team has the operational responsibility of the M365 platform at SAP, and drives adoption of new services. The implementation of latest IT technologies is the foundation of our continued Digital Transformation journey
Purpose and Objectives
The M365 Administrator is responsible for the support, operations and continuous improvement of the Microsoft technologies we deliver to our end users. As a member of the Service Team, they will work closely with the Architects and Service Owner to ensure rock-solid and smooth operation of SAPs M365 offerings. They will also ensure we deliver the right products to our Customers, ensuring the product meets customer needs and expectations, and maintaining a high security maturity.
Expectations and Tasks
The M365 Technical Administrator will manage the following M365 Workloads:
- OneDrive for Business / SharePoint Online
- M365 Groups
- Teams
- Power Platform
- M365 Apps
- Sway, Forms, Planner, etc.
The M365 Administrator will have an understanding and hands-on experience with the following internet related fundamentals:
- TCP/IP, routing, subnets, IPv4/IPv6
- DNS (what it does, how to verify DNS client function)
- Protocols HTTP, SMTP, FTP (what it is, how it works (basics), where it is made for)
- XML/JSON (what it is used for)
- Azure blob storage
- Azure AD
- Azure eDiscovery
The M365 Administrator will have an understanding and hands- on experience securing the fundamentals below:
- Encryption (item/transport, e.g. smime, RMS, TLS)
- Firewalls/Portfilter (how it works in general, why it's needed, what it cannot do)
- X509 certificates
Experience (Role Requirements):
- Minimum 3 year’s experience in Microsoft 365 administration (preferably certified)
- Knowledge of ticketing tools (preferably Service Now)
- Strong customer focus with practical experience of Microsoft end user products
- Awareness of ITIL Processes & Scaled Agile Framework
- Basic understanding about OAuth (optional, otherwise short workshop)
- Ability to work with and write PowerShell scripts
- Helpful: experience in configuration and operation of webservers, database servers
- Fluent and clear English. Written and spoken.
Soft skills
- Self-starter. Can work independently, and also as part of a team
- Can self-educate, investigate / troubleshoot, and bring back solutions
- Ability to re-produce and analyze issues, with test data, prepare Microsoft cases & escalations, working with Microsoft support, review Microsoft solutions
- Not afraid to ask for help or support when required, but absolutely making sure the above is covered first

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 66,300 -156,700 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
