Job Summary:
We are seeking an Assistant to join our team at our Day Habilitation Center in Mountainside, NJ. . You will provide support and assistance to adult individuals in need, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to individuals, assisting with daily activities and personal care tasks
- Assist with data collection and maintain accurate records of client progress
- Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills
- Follow behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors. Knowledge of American Sign Language is a plus
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for individuals
Requirements:
- Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a CNA or CHHA, or direct support professional
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding towards individuals with diverse needs
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Fluent in English and Spanish
Salary and Benefits: $19-$22 per hour, depending on experience and knowledge. Health insurance, paid vacation, PTO, paid lunch hour, paid training, 401K matching, etc.
