SALARY: Base $39,867 (Max salary $49,037 depending on years of service with Saratoga County)
*Plus optional enrollment in NYS Retirement System*
The work involves responsibility for performing clerical duties and standardized clerical tasks involving the full-time
or substantial part-time operation of a computer for the entry and retrieval of information using software to produce
printed material such as letters, memorandum, reports and forms. Specific duties will vary with the needs of
individual department(s) and/or locations within Saratoga County. Employees in this class are given detailed
instructions for new or difficult assignments. General supervision is received from a higher-ranking clerical or
administrative employee. Does related work as required.

Required performance knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal characteristics:
Good knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment; good knowledge of general business math and
English grammar; ability to type accurately within reasonable time limits; good ability to operate a personal
computer and utilize common office software programs including but not limited to the Microsoft Office Suite at a
reasonable rate of accuracy and speed; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to get
along well with others; ability to write legibly; clerical aptitude; mental alertness; neatness; accuracy; tact, courtesy
and professionalism; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
A. Possession of an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science, Office Management, Business Administration, or
closed related field; OR
B. Graduation from High School or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED) and two (2) years of
clerical experience utilizing a personal computer.
