Summary of Position: This Clinical Education Specialist s responsible for the coordination and administration of the functions of the Clinical Education Department including event coordination, the needs of the shared governance system, and support for Nursing Excellence initiatives for Magnet Designation. The primary responsibilities include support for educational programming and evaluation including data management and analysis, contributing to optimization of services. The role includes the administration of the primary hospital system learning management system to support clinical education as well as other related databases. As educational programming requires consistent and timely communication an essential function is the design and development of course marketing tools, brochures, and electronic communication. The role includes the coordination of academic student placement and documentation. This position reports to Director of Clinical Education/Professional Practice/ Magnet Program Director and collaborates with Human Resources (HR) department for the onboarding of clinical staff, shared administration of the hospital system learning platform, and the HR data management system for data needed by Patient Care Services. The person in this position must be able to distinguish and reconcile inconsistencies or problems in data, program planning, and customer service/team needs. The expectation is to contribute to the structure and systematic workflows of the department to promote efficient practices.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Education and Training Support: Supports departmental staff to facilitate educational programming including clinical orientation, American Heart Association programs, in-service education, and maintenance of programming. Coordinates the administration of academic student management. Assures that the planning and event coordination are completed according to the established timeline and schedule.
Learning Management System (LMS): Provides coordination of course programming, data management, outcome reporting, and maintenance of the learning management system timely offerings. Develops and formats course content for uploading. Analyzes reports. Collaborates with Human Resource LMS System Administrator to assure consistent and timely customer service, and to seek strategies to maximize the LMS for clinical staff.
Business Intelligence and Analytics: Assists the Clinical Education Staff to provide learner outcome data of educational programs in order to evaluate programming. Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure data integrity. Provides reports according to established audit schedule. Maintains financial records of expenses for cost centers.
Research Data Analysis: Supports evidence based and research projects by translating raw data into usable format for statistical analysis. Assists with data management.
Magnet Designation: Supports the Shared Governance Structure and Nursing Excellence initiatives for Magnet Designation. Supports the Nursing Organization with required documentation from meetings and initiatives; maintains documentation. Assists with data management.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate Degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience office management, health related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with databases, analytical tools and software.
