POSITION SUMMARY
: Under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer, the Data and Assessment Coordinator provides relevant data to Network and school staff from federal, state and local data sources from which state and local indicators are derived and advises on the use of formative and summative data within the federal, state, and local continuous improvement and accountability system for the purpose of improving student performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned by their supervisor:

  • Gather statistical data and accurately prepare a variety of periodic and special reports related to program and outreach activities and their effectiveness
  • Analyze data to develop recommendations to inform modifications to instructional practice
  • Assist in designing student assessments and manage the administration of various assessments
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise assessment activities
  • Assist in designing benchmark assessments that are highly correlated and predictive of current state and federal assessments
  • Provide technical assistance in interpreting data and data analysis
  • Coordinate the progress monitoring of students at the site and Network level
  • Analyze, synthesize, and interpret reports from local, state and national assessment and evaluation data as it relates to individual student performance and school improvement for use in decision-making
  • Accurately compile valid data from multiple assessments to develop student, subject, grade, school, or Network performance profiles
  • Train teachers and administrators in understanding data reports and using data and assessments to improve classroom practice
  • Accurately select and apply appropriate statistical procedures and measurements to data
  • Review school and Network state assessment data to develop comparison trends
  • Assist school sites in the development, implementation, and evaluation of school improvement plans
  • Assist staff in utilizing data to make informed decisions in planning for continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain accurate and confidential historical student and school/Network data files to monitor and track performance.
  • Create and administer surveys and coordinate the tabulation and interpretation of survey results
  • Query and translate data into tables, charts, graphs, and narrative presentations
  • Research and investigate software and reporting requirements
  • Provide requested assessment data and assist with grant writing
  • Attend and participate in meetings and trainings as assigned
  • Comply with state and federal privacy laws to protect the confidentiality of data
  • Serve on Confluence Academies committees and attend other professional learning community meetings and events as needed/assigned
  • Participate in available and relevant professional development opportunities
  • Design and conduct training sessions and site meetings related to assigned responsibilities
  • Act as a resource to staff and administrators in the area of curriculum, instruction, assessment and the appropriate use of data as necessary
  • Prepare a variety of assessment reports and presentations for the Board of Directors
  • Remain current with all new assessment requirements and assessments programs
  • Ensure Networks compliance with state and federal mandated testing and assessment requirements
  • Have predictable and regular positive daily attendance at work site
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

LOCATION
: Network level position; will work at all 5 campuses.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field required, Master’s Degree or higher preferred. Minimum three (3) years successful teaching experience preferred.

Certification: Valid teaching certificate issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education preferred

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry along with predictions, regressions, and other statistical analyses.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Other Skills and Abilities: Must be able to transport between school buildings, districts and cities. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to utilize technology in establishing appropriate record keeping programs for students and staff.
