The EVAAS team is a specialized division at SAS that focuses exclusively on education solutions, and we partner with state education agencies and districts across the country to support their analytic, consulting, and reporting needs. Our mission is to provide educators with information to make sound instructional choices and use resources more strategically to ensure that every student has the best chance to succeed.
What you'll do:
You will be an analyst with the SAS EVAAS group, implementing growth models and predictive analytics with K-12 assessment data, providing statistical and SAS programming expertise to internal and external customers of the SAS EVAAS product.
You will:
- Gain a thorough understanding of established growth and value-added models.
- Generate reports and other datasets needed for customers based on these models using SAS software. As well as support internal and external customers with the understanding, interpretation and use of this information.
- Uphold the high level of accuracy and integrity of the EVAAS product
- Maintain and update a standard library of source code regarding analytic implementation procedures
- Maintain a proficiency in the use of Base SAS software, SAS/STAT procedures, and statistical add-on SAS products
- Work closely with your analytic colleagues and other functional teams such as project management, data processing, web development, and testing to produce analytic work product that flows through our production pipeline.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential:
- Master's degree in Statistics or closely related field with knowledge in the application of statistics using the SAS system.

2 or more years of experience analyzing data and/or teaching, including at least one year using the SAS system.
Additional:
- Some public speaking and/or consulting experience preferred
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with people from a variety of technical backgrounds
- Ability to communicate effectively in a remote and/or hybrid work environment
- Capable of interpreting complex mathematical documentation
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail
- Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and other customer specifications
- Location: Cary, NC SAS HQ or remote
The Nice To Have's:
- SAS Certification
- Knowledge of SAS macro language
- Prior experience with linear mixed models, ANCOVA, and/or HLM models
- Prior experience with large data sets and/or education data
- Prior experience with code management, source or version control
- Experience working in a hybrid or remote environment
