About the job
The Legal team is looking for a Legal Counsel to provide legal advice and assistance throughout our organization. You will independently perform a full range of legal services and maintain a diverse workload, but your primary focus will be on negotiating a wide variety of contracts, including software licenses, hosted managed services agreements, and professional services agreements.
As a Legal Counsel, you will:
- Work with internal groups including Sales, Finance, Professional Hosting and Services, and other departments to structure customer proposals and agreements.
- Prepare and negotiate transactional agreements with customers, including license agreements, professional services agreements and hosted managed services agreement
- Manage legal business matters pertaining to SAS as assigned.
- Provide a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services to in-house clients.
- Regularly interact with senior internal and external individuals.
- Research and analyze proposed transactions, assess risks and rewards, and recommend strategies to minimize risk to the company.
- Lead contractual negotiations.
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires a minimum of five years of related experience.
- Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law by being admitted to and a member in good standing of at least one state bar.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements stated above.
- A seasoned, experienced and creative professional with a full understanding of area of specialization.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior in-house corporate legal counsel.
- 2 years of contracts experience at a mid-size to large-size law firm.
