About The Job

Data & analytics today are one of the largest levers we have for accelerating a continuous improvement culture within the complete Satair. It's a key means to increase efficiency, competitiveness, employee engagement & most importantly customer satisfaction.

You will be part of the data, analytics & automation team that has a primary focus on building self-service tools, data foundations and pipelines, supporting the up skilling of abilities within the functional teams to ensure the long term stability and scalability.

As a data engineering specialist you will be required to work across the complete Satair organization. Working hand in hand with the data analytics teams to support them with technological advice, infrastructure, data definition, diagnosis, troubleshooting and improvement of the backend processes.

The team is spread across the globe, matching Satair's operational footprint. It means working in small, multi-disciplinary teams with a focus and responsibility on delivering pragmatic solutions directly to the teams.

Tasks & Accountabilities

• You will design and implement scalable data pipelines on the BW4HANA / Cloud / Sky wise ecosystem while handling data from various data sources and determine how best to structure it in order to provide data in a ready-to-use form for the to the wider data analyst community
• Work alongside data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
• Continuous improvement and maintenance of the DevOps infrastructure & tools supporting our data product / engineering team members in building, optimizing and automating activities (acting as a core focal point for maintaining the teams DevOps infrastructure)
• You are expected to write high quality, maintainable, and robust code, and provide scalable solutions for ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Acts as a coach on digital technologies & develop and share best practices to the functional teams

Required Skills

• You are a quick learner, passionate about your work and driven to get things done with a collaborative way of working
• Hands-on, pragmatic approach to building digital products (hacker / entrepreneurial mindset)
• Experience with DevOps tools / modern tech stack & practices (OpenShift / AWS / GCP / Jenkins would be a plus)
• Experience of ETL / orchestration in an industrial environment (Apache Airflow would be a plus)
• Experience in software development (Python, SQL, Javascript, APIs) with experience in testing, algorithms & data structures (Skywise would be a plus)
• BW/HANA experience would be a plus (data models, extractors, composite providers, advanced DSOs etc)

• University degree in Engineering / Computer science preferred
• Minimum of 1-3 years of working experience in an engineering position or similar
