POSITION DESCRIPTION


Title: Deposit Operations Generalist II

Salary Range: Based on Experience

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00

Category: Full Time

Reports To: Operations Manager


SUMMARY

The position of Deposit Operations Generalist II requires excellent attention to detail and ability to operate standard office machinery, such as a calculator or typewriter. Additionally this position requires the ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. This position will be responsible for assisting in the back room operations functions as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Telephone Customer Service; responding to inquiries and/or refers inquiries to the appropriate department or person, and exhibiting the necessary follow through with customers and/or staff involved

  2. Mobile remote deposit user and item review
  3. ACH
  4. Wire processing (incoming and outgoing – foreign and domestic) and any reporting requirements
  5. Fed returns
  6. Large item return
  7. Sig verify
  8. EP menu – wire
  9. Check adjustments
  10. DDA Verifications
  11. Start of day, end of day, cash letter and item processing
  12. DDA documents, assist scanning, indexing and filing
  13. Checkback
  14. Any other duties as assigned or requested

SECONDARY DUTIES

The position of Deposit Operations Generalist I performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

  1. ACH Exposure
  2. Jack Henry Yellow Hammer
  3. Regulation CC holds
  4. Review of scan/indexing

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

The position of Deposit Operations Generalist II is not responsible for the supervision of any employee(s).

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The environment for this position is an open office that is mostly clean and comfortable. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will.

The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 30 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

MENTAL DEMANDS

The incumbent in this position must be able to accommodate to reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with prior experience in a financial institution. Bank experience should consist of operations and computer knowledge.
  • Prior telephone customer service experience is essential
  • Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, computer system and word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Ten key skills
  • Filing both alpha and numeric skills
  • Basic typing skills to meet the production needs of the position
  • Basic math skills
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
  • Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

The incumbent must be able to perform this position safely, without endangering the health or safety to him/herself or others.
