Overview:
The Asbestos Field Worker is responsible for working with asbestos, mold, lead, and/or other hazardous waste removals while adhering to company policies and procedures regarding remediation. The individual will also adhere to EPA, OSHA, and local requirements regarding safety, hazardous materials handling, etc. The individual will participate in occasional industry training, update certifications, and maintain fitness levels as required for the Environmental industry. Other qualifications and responsibilities might arise as deemed necessary by circumstances.

Through the acquisition of Pearson Asbestos, which was founded in 1989, we began by providing asbestos and lead inspections for demolitions and renovations, remediation of asbestos, lead, and mold as well as clean up and treatment of other hazardous materials. Responsibilities:
Asbestos Technician Responsibilities may include:
· Hazardous material containment and clean-up
· Asbestos removal/abatement
· Removes asbestos from roofing, ceilings, walls, pipes, flooring, siding, boilers, and other structures, following hazardous waste handling guidelines: Assembles scaffolding and assists in setting up containment areas using plastic sheeting and duct tape. Places asbestos into plastic disposal bags and seals bags, using duct tape
· Mold Remediation
· Lead Abatement
Communication Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Work Environment:
Working around equipment and machinery, the work environment is usually dirty, dusty and noisy, on uneven ground/surfaces containing hazardous or potentially hazardous substances and/or materials and is subject to inclement or extreme weather conditions and temperatures. Work includes handling hazardous materials and the use of personal protective equipment. Regional travel will be required. Must be willing to stay overnight, often 2-3 nights per week depending upon location of job.
Physical Demands:
Must be in good physical health with the ability to wear full and half face respirator, work in variety of spaces and heights and regularly lift and carry 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
Certifications and additional requirements include: (Certified Training will be provided).
Job Status:
Full-time hourly. Eligible for over-time. Typical work week 4–10-hour shifts (40 hours)
Compensation:
Starting pay is $20.00/hr.; 90-day successful performance review increase to $22.00/hr.; Annual successful performance review increase to $25.00/hr., prevailing wage work may also be available.
