In this role, your primary responsibilities include performing scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on fixed and rotating mechanical equipment, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems, completing miscellaneous facility maintenance activities, and supporting the Operations Manager in delivering a first-class maintenance. Our facility infrastructure includes several conveyor systems, yellow equipment, pickup trucks, and other industrial equipment. Troubleshoot conveyor, rotating equipment, and mechanical problems within the facility equipment and repair or replace as neededPerform and maintain mechanical belt splices and replacementsPerform tasks such as removal, installation, alignment, leveling, and coupling of rotating equipment, as well as miscellaneous facility maintenance activitiesOperation of heavy equipment in support of coal and ash operations as needed.Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practicesUtilize Computerized Maintenance Management System to organize/record maintenance work, warranty records and inventory Collaborate with other individuals within the maintenance team as well as those outside of the maintenance department, including operations team members, electrical personnel, coordinators, and management to ensure the overall success of the operationRequirements/Qualifications:High School Diploma/GEDPrefer two plus years of previous experience as a maintenance Mechanic Verifiable mechanic experience in material handling operations. Electrical understanding a plus.Understand mechanical drawings, preventative maintenance practices, and sequence of operation a plusMust possess an understanding of typical mechanical and electrical equipment used in the movement of material by crane, conveyors, and yellow equipmentMust be able to work in adverse conditions (heat and cold); time is split between a shop and outdoor environmentMust be physically able to handle heavy parts and pieces of equipmentMust be able to adjust shifts based on ship scheduling. This is a 24/7 operations when ships are in.
