Customer Service Representative

As a Customer service representative, you will have the opportunity to provide compassionate care for the people and the animals in Douglas County, bring pets and families together, and perform purpose driven work that is heartwarming and satisfying.

This position isn't for everyone. It can be loud, smelly and at times stressful. But if making a significant difference in the lives of shelter pets is something you are passionate about, this just might be the most heart fulfilling job you've ever had!

Schedule to be determined but roughly 20 hours a week part time

• Organize and clean all common areas such as lobby, office space, restrooms, staff bathroom and breakroom.
• File monthly all paperwork retained for record keeping after uploading them to animal/people files daily.
• ·Communicates regularly with the Department Managers regarding animal health concerns. Communicates regularly with the Operations Director with safe and efficient shelter operations, supplies needed, equipment repairs, customer service issues, public and employee safety.
• Answers incoming telephone calls, greets customers, directs them to appropriate departments or individuals, responds to inquiries about specific animal related or Saving Grace program information.
• Completes daily revenue reconciling procedures. Accurately maintains daily log of monies coming into shelter.
• · Uploads discharged animal records to petpoint upon any outcome according to our Records Retention Policy.
• · Marks as adopted or remove discharged adoptable animals from Petpoint as well as marking on White boards and kennel cards.
• ·Assists customers with the surrender and adoption process. Completes animal redemption paperwork, explains fees and services for adoption and donations from the public and records all pertinent information.
• Accurately maintains and uploads files, records and paperwork for, but not limited to, rabies and licensing tags, license reports, and bite reports.
• ·Assists in the kennel/cattery area when needed.
• Maintains a clean and professional looking work area, and works peacefully alongside other CSRs and all other employees and volunteers.
• May be required to operate shelter vehicles in the running of errands, transporting animals or other related services.
• ·Completes other duties as assigned by Operations Director or Executive Director.
• · After surrender or stray animals are brought in, the Customer Service Representative will house animals in temporary kennels, along with appropriate paperwork until animal care teams can process intake. For cats, CSR will safety transfer to feral den or cage dependent upon animal outcome and temperament and walkie cat team to their presence.
