Savvas’ K-12 Science group is seeking a marketing leader to support an exciting launch of a suite of new classroom Science programs. Innovative, digital, and cutting-edged these programs are slated for market success. We are seeking an experienced product marketing manager to join the team and manage this exciting line. The 9-12 Science Product Marketing Manager will provide strategic direction, marketing planning and execution, and operational support for this new product line.
Responsibilities include planning for products; researching market data to support development decisions made by the product line leadership, and working with the cross-functional team to ensure the successful execution of the 9-12 product line strategy. The Science Product Marketing Manager is responsible for tracking competition and market trends and utilizing this information when creating product messaging that portrays his/her programs in the most competitively advantaged manner.
The 9-12 Marketing Manager will also develop online and print-based marketing promotions, and marketing campaigns, utilizing tools such as Direct Response Marketing, Print Ads, and Public Relations. This position is responsible to ensure that key product features and competitive differentiators are adequately described to both customers and the Field Sales team. This position is responsible for the successful development and implementation of national and/or state-specific campaign marketing plans to support the product line. This position will work closely with the sales teams and the rest of the Science product management and marketing team.
The 9-12 Science Product Marketing Manager will also:
Participate in the development of the long-term strategic plans for product line(s)Participate in product planning and development work in collaboration with product development teams to ensure timely delivery of market-leading offeringsGather and analyze data to support the decision-making process for product plansMonitor and assess the market and competitive trends and customer needsCommunicate with customers, management, internal departments, and sales to coordinate overall marketing and product development efforts in accordance with company goalsManage the development of all sales and marketing collateral including digital marketing pieces such as email, social media, and website developEnsure that Sales remains informed of all product information and updatesEnsure that the daily operations for marketing are maintainedTrain Sales Representatives, Sales Managers, Specialists, and Customer Service on the complete 9-12 Social Studies product line
Requirements
4 years work experience as a Marketing or Product Manager required BA/BS in related field requiredStrong track record of working on cross-functional teams requiredDemonstrated ability to effectively manage projects requiredStrong verbal and written communication skills requiredStrong interpersonal skills required: Must be able to interact successfully with customers, sales team, product development team, and product management teamGood time management skills and organizational skills requiredExperience in online marketing techniques required, including email, social media, and product demos (such as Brainshark or Camtasia) requiredProven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, collaborative climate requiredExperience in the Science market is preferredExperience in K-12 educational publishing and e-learning highly preferred
