Sawyer Home & Garden Center is now looking for motivated individuals to help our plant department!

We are a Harbor Country destination - offering everything for your home, lawn, and garden. We are looking for a seasonal member to help our plants department for the spring and summer seasons. Do you love working outside, with people, plants and in a fast-paced environment? Is providing excellent customer service important to you? Our seasonal plants position may be a great fit for you.

An ideal candidate will have weekend availability and be able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week.

Duties include but are not limited to

• Cheerfully greeting and interacting with customers
• Run a cash register using store procedures
• Answering customer questions about planting and caring for annuals and perennials
• Identifying a wide variety of annuals and perennials
• Assisting customers with plant choices and directing customers to products
• Unloading trucks, arranging and maintaining plants
• Using a 2-way radio
• Working outside in all types of weather
• Completing tasks that can be strenuous in nature

Requirements

• Must be willing to train in other areas for back up
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work at a fast pace in all kinds of weather
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
• Must be dependable
• Must be a team player, willing to help as needed
• Must be able to work until 7 PM, weekends, and some holidays
• Experience is preferred but not necessary - we will train you!
