Description
As a marketing & business development coordinator, the candidate will work collaboratively with the Business Development team to support the attorneys in all office locations with developing and executing their business plan. The candidate will take ownership of business development coaching, coordinating strategies for pitch meetings and client retention, assisting with attorney business development plans and implementation, conducting research on firm prospects, and identifying opportunities. The candidate will be expected to provide high level strategy support and be knowledgeable of the services the firm provides. Communication is important in this role as the candidate will be involved with engagement and implementation efforts for strategic pitches, proposals, presentations, and profile-raising opportunities for all practice groups both internally and externally.
The role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills, good project management skills, strong client service orientation, and a business development background in a professional service industry.
We are looking for someone who has a proactive and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work with little supervision is also key. The successful candidate should be a robust, confident, and effective communicator, with the ability to offer ideas and draft clear and accurate copy.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the project lead in the coordination of client pitches from inception through submission. This includes, but is not limited to, requesting/conducting initial research, reviewing opportunity and strategic analysis, conducting strategy meetings, coordinating pitch meeting materials and developing plans for follow-up.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with lead partners, business development, and marketing managers. Liaison between marketing team
- Conducts client / prospective client research and analysis using library, knowledge management, and accounting resources
- Develop in-depth knowledge of all firm services and act as firm resource regarding collective and individual experience; legal, industry and business trends; and practice-specific marketing collateral
- Build client relationships & facilitate client engagement
- Identify cross-selling & cross-marketing opportunities
- Implement strategic priorities by understanding the clients and lawyers in the market
- Support the integration of the firm’s client relationship management system (Salesforce)
- Special projects as assigned as business needs arise
Requirements
- Must be well-organized and detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills and maintain a positive attitude
- High energy and genuine enthusiasm for the subject of legal marketing and business development activities and goals
- Demonstrate the ability to think tactically, anticipate needs and find solutions to overcome obstacles independently
- Focused and output driven, with strong time management skills, able to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Successfully work with management to prioritize and adapt to changing workload demands
- Demonstrated ability to communicate confidently and collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field preferred, but not required
- 4-5 years’ experience is preferred in a professional services environment
- Experience with proposal writing required
- Advanced proficiency in Windows 11 and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
