Dispatcher

We are seeking an employee to act as our location's dispatcher. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service while maintaining control and enforcing delivery processes through proper communication with all department. This will ensure deliveries are made in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

• Coordinate customer deliveries.
• Assign drivers and ensures that all deliveries/pick-ups are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Work closely with the other teams (yard/production) to ensure loads are built and delivered correctly.
• Communicate all delivery changes in a timely manner to sales/customers. Work with drivers to ensure delivery equipment is maintained and meets DOT regulations.
• Work with Shipping Manager to perform personnel management duties including training, hiring, terminating, initiating disciplinary actions, completing performance reviews and making wage recommendations.
• Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures.
• Monitor work performance and quality assurance.
• Work to assure excellent customer relations.
• Monitor the safeness of the work area and ensures adherence to safety guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by location management.

Experience, Education and Requirements

• Minimum education required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous driving and/or dispatching experience
• Must have excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Customer service skills to cultivate relationships.
• Ability to multitask while remaining organized.

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

• Frequent sitting and tasks involving repetitive motions using wrists, hands and fingers.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Occasionally lift, carry, and push up to 100lbs.
• Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level.
• Reach overhead to grasp materials.
