What are the responsibilities and job description for the Events Planner position at SCAD?

The events planner will develop new concepts, plan new and existing events, execute day of events and reconcile results at close of event. Events vary from year-to-year and include both annual and project based SCAD events. Attendance of major events is required. Travel will be necessary.
Position Summary: SCAD seeks an enthusiastic events planner to join its team full time in historic Savannah, Ga.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelors required in related field • Two years related experience in events or conference coordination • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Excellent communication skills: writing, listening and speaking. • Ability to work weekends and evenings • The ability to travel to all SCAD locations and SCAD signature event locations • Ability to work in fast paced environment, managing several task simultaneously • Highly motivated, positive, flexible, self-starter with outstanding organizational and time management skills works well in a team environment • Vendor management experience preferred • Valid driver’s licenses with reliable transportation

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
