Scale is growing our Federal Go-to-Market team and is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) with a demonstrated ability to map federal accounts, prioritize relevant programs, and identify key stakeholders. The BDR is comfortable with a constantly changing and evolving startup environment and is excited about machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) applications for U.S. government missions. You will join a rapidly growing federal team and have the opportunity to build a career in technology business development.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Scale Federal Deployment Strategists to develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging.
- Generate new business opportunities by prospecting, researching, and outbound into cold accounts and warm leads at some of the largest federal prime contractors and Federal departments and agencies.
- Conduct high-level conversations with senior executives in target accounts.
- Effectively communicate the value of Scale AI’s capabilities to potential customers.
- Align and collaborate with the Federal Deployment Strategists to create strategic and organized territory plans.
- Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly quotas of qualified opportunities.
Background:
- 1-2 years of experience in federal technical sales or consulting.
- Literacy in AI/ML technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect into large technical enterprise organizations.
- Process-oriented, organized, and able to work well in unstructured environments.
- Track record of consistent top performance.
- Excellent outbound phone and email communication skills.
- Extremely flexible with an ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of Salesforce, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and ZoomInfo.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

The base salary range for this full-time position in our hub location Washington, DC, is $80,800 - $96,960. Compensation packages at Scale include base salary, equity, and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position, determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
