The job
Design, develop and facilitate delivery of sales training, onboarding, plan benefit training etc. for all business channels (SCAN Field/TeleSales, Broker Agents/Agencies). Work in partnership with SCAN’s L&D team to manage digital content and learning paths available in SCAN’s Learning Management System (LMS).

General Training Responsibilities
- Design, develop and facilitate delivery of all sales training, including Sales Orientation Training, annual product certification, Medi-Cal Certification, and all other company/department training modules.
- Identify additional training opportunities/concepts and develop sales training standards and methodology as requested.
- Ensure in depth understanding of all regulatory guidelines established by SCAN’s Compliance Department to appropriately design and deliver sales training modules.
- Assist in the evaluation and analysis of the Sales Operations Department by identifying goals and proposing recommendations for additional training, counseling, policy revision, performance monitoring and review.
- Maintain ongoing communication with other key department stakeholders to understand changes impacting sales various lines of business and ensure cross-training.
- Coordination and planning all training department related events including yearly SCAN’s yearly benefit roll out training on both Product and CMS changes.
- Oversee daily activities of the Training department and successfully managing a remote workforce.
- Maintain training staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; creating a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Manage training staff by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring performance, and appraising job results; coaching and counseling employees in conjunction with senior management and SCAN’s Human Resources Department.
- Keep current on professional training techniques and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional training/development societies.
- Travel to nationwide SCAN markets as necessary to deliver training as needed or requested.
- Contribute to establishing our SCAN Brand in expansion markets as our company continues to grow by being a visible presence online and in person across our states and counties.
Specific Training for SCAN Internal Sales Channels
- Work with SCAN Sales Management to develop an ongoing and scalable Onboarding Process
- Develop a Sales Coaching Program for TeleSales and Field Sales Agents, including a 30, 60, 90 day follow up/check in progress plan.
- Sales Coaching will include live call monitoring and ride along with agents to provide real time feedback.
- Work with management across the Sales and Sales Operations Departments to ensure unified and cohesive messaging is being delivered by all staff.
Technology and Training
- Providing both instructor lead training, live demonstrations and micro learnings on relevant changing technology topics using the most effective form of training delivery for the end user.
- Work closely with the Director of Sales Technology and Innovation in assessing technology gaps that will help agents successfully bring in more business
- Work with our various Electronic Enrollment vendors to ensure an accurate Enrollment experience across multiple platforms (Connecture, Sunfire, etc.).
- Build and implement a “Training Request” intake workflow for new training requests from across the organization.
- Work with the Broker Channel to understand common training gaps associated with changing technology to engage all sales agents by creating and delivering Just-In-Time course offering.
- Make SCAN the Go-To Plan for the Most Up-To-Date reliable and easy to access information.
Your qualifications
- Required: bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- A comparable combination of education/experience and/or training will be considered equivalent to the education listed above.
- Insurance License (preferred but not necessary)
- 5 years Medicare Sales Training and Development Experience
- Medicare Sales Experience (preferred but not necessary)
- People Management
- Current Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory
