POSITION SUMMARY
This position analyzes, classifies, and reviews both routine and complex accounting transactions and identifies solutions in accordance with GAAP. This position interprets accounting results and advises management with respect to those results, interacting regularly with cross-functional teams. You will also be performing responsibilities at a supervisory level.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES
- Prepare, review, and record a variety of routine and complex accounting transactions, journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversight of all aspects of inventory and accounts payable
- Assist with various monthly activities, including prepaids, deferred revenue, accruals, and other areas, as required.
- Prepare and review various financial schedules, including working capital schedules, daily and weekly cash flow projections, balance sheets and monthly financial statements in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to manage processes associated with sales/use and personal property tax and unclaimed property.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates accounting staff toward attainment of goals and objectives:
- Develops staff by providing guidance regarding accounting methods and processes, by identifying developmental and growth opportunities for staff members, and by ensuring appropriate training provided to staff.
- Provides coaching, communication, feedback and completes formal performance appraisals for each assigned staff member.
- Develops and maintains an environment that is optimal for employee productivity, employee engagement and job satisfaction.
- Identify accounting problems, research solutions and form recommendations for resolution.
- Assist with developing or modifying accounting policies and ensure systems and procedures follow company policies, acceptable accounting practices and applicable regulations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask with efficiency and accuracy.
- Ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization, as well as external resources.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA preferred (active or inactive)
- Minimum five years of accounting experience, or 4 years with certification or advanced degree (CPA/MA/MBA)
- Working knowledge of accounting applications in a computerized environment
- Solid history with detailed account reconciliations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Experience and proficiency in applying GAAP accounting principles/theories and concepts.
Preference
- Experience with NetSuite is not required but is a plus.
- Experience with account reconciliation software is a plus.
