AVP, Operational Excellence Salary Range
- $165,464 -$176,255
AVP, Operational Excellence, Duties & Responsibilities
- Support outsourced internal and external audits, regulatory examinations and compliance reviews. This includes the coordination of audit/exam request lists to ensure timely fulfillment, assignment of tasks to proper business owners and scheduling of resources and accommodations.
- Promote best practice design, automation and implementation of end-to-end processes owned and performed by BU’s and ensure the processes performed are standardized, efficient, and designed with appropriate controls.
- Design and release a Business Management System that will be used to categorize the SCCU’s business processes so that they are more easily understood and a framework to capture SCCU’s entire business document library in one collection, making them easier for users to find. This Business Management System will catalog, control, configure and disburse all of the company’s process documents.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits and inspections related to quality systems and processes. Develop and maintain strong relationships with auditors and regulatory authorities. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions
- Partners with VP of Compliance on establishing internal strategies, policies, procedures, processes, and programs to prevent violations of law, rule, or regulation and design and deliver a risk management framework that maintains risk levels within the SCCU’s risk appetite and protects the organization.
- Implement lean quality methods to build a zero severe defect agenda and culture.
- Identify areas for improvement in quality systems, processes, and practices. Implement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and effectiveness throughout the organization. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and provide guidance and support to cross-functional team
- Works with management to identify challenge areas and key gaps within organization for process improvement/ waste reduction projects thus building a robust pipeline. Continually challenges the status quo in support of Growth Initiatives.
- Continuously analyze regulatory requirements and both assess and implement quality program improvements, minimum annually, or as changes in regulations, or processes, occur.
- Strong product knowledge and a good grasp with an understanding of member expectations and quality of products.
AVP, Operational Excellence Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a Business or Engineering discipline. MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred
- Extensive Quality Assurance experience with the development, implementation, and sustainment of Business Management System (BMS) or Quality Management System (QMS).
- Experience with risk and control, quality assurance / control and monitoring processes, data management, data governance, data quality or related initiatives.
Prior Experience:
- 15 years of Quality Assurance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education required.
- Specific subject matter expertise regarding transformation, change management, re-engineering and program management disciplines.
- Knowledge and understanding of Business Process Management Notation (BPMN) software.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools, such as Six Sigma, Lean CMMI, and ISO standards

- Standard hours are M – F 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
