DESCRIPTION
As a key member of the Senior Leadership team, the VP of Social Impact is the champion of the social impact strategy for the credit union. A strategic leader, this individual is a key participant in the strategic planning process, development of action plans and key performance indicators. The VP has primary responsibility for planning, implementing, and managing community engagement activities for the organization including the development of credit union policies, procedures, and goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in development of and execution of the Credit Union’s strategic direction and corporate goals including social impact strategy. Provides leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic objectives, goals, and strategies. Oversees operational plans, policies, and goals which further strategic objectives. Communicates the strategic plan to subordinate staff.

Serves as point person, subject matter expert, and program champion for the CDFI and LID designations. Aligns growth strategies around member analytics, community partnerships and lending activities towards maintaining CDFI and LID status.

Responsible for social impact sustainability plan and the development and implementation of all aspects of fundraising and public outreach which includes opportunities to leverage grants and programs to amplify social impact efforts. Communicates social impact efforts to key stakeholders.

Collaborate with the Latino Advisory Committee ensuring volunteers are engaged and valued. Ensure Hispanic target market is well represented. Provides periodic summary activities to the Board.

Responsible for the Credit Union’s community outreach and education, event management, and community partnership. Ensures the execution of strategies to improve market presence while delivering the company's vision, mission, and value to the community.

Leads the community, advocacy, and political operations of the Credit Union, building and maintaining strong, trusting relationships with key community, political, and industry leaders within the communities SCE FCU serves to support organizational objectives, advocacy priorities, and community partnerships.

Coordinates and represents the credit unions interests in the Center for Financial Empowerment (CFE) to ensure alignment of social strategies, increasing program engagement and impact key performance indicators.

Achieves financial goals by establishing objectives, developing budgets, controlling costs, and maximizing use of assets. Ensures continual analysis to measure and improve services. Ensures automation of tracking and efficient operations.

Works collaboratively with other divisions to implement new products or programs that align with serving people of modest means or emerging markets.

Partner with Business Development teams to support acquisition and engagements goals.

Embraces the values of diversity, equity and inclusion and ensures they are reflected in community engagement outside the organization.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the Community Engagement team and coordinates with CFE Executive Director. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the division. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum 5 years related business and/or community development experience with a proven record of working with community development organizations, political and community leaders, and special interest groups.

Working knowledge of credit union products and services and delivery channels.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows 365 suite of products and Adobe. Ability to learn new software packages as necessary.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills, including the ability to resolve disputes and observe confidentiality.

Must have the ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of the organization (internal and external to the credit union).

Must be able and willing to travel periodically to communities in Southern California and Southern Nevada to meet with business partners, legislators, and other dignitaries.
