The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Physician is responsible for providing direct clinical customer care and works with other clinical staff to establish medical protocols and treatment regimens. Benteh Nuutah Four Directions in Wasilla is an adult outpatient substance use treatment center that will be offering Medication for Addiction Treatment program. The Addiction Physician will lead the Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT) program and work closely with a Registered Nurse to serve patients and provide MAT to individuals who have a substance use disorder, but who may also suffer from chronic pain conditions and mental health disorders. This position will co-manage these conditions and/or coordinate care with other health care professionals. This clinic will operate as a bridge, where patients may seek care at Benteh Nuutah Four Directions MAT for initiation onto medication and stabilization, and once stabilized are transferred back to their primary care providers for long-term, ongoing MAT care. The Addiction Physician will be responsible to build relationships with the MAT program at Anchorage Four Directions for consistency and information sharing. The Addiction Physician will act as a MAT consultant for Benteh Nuutah Valley Native Primary Care Center, and other Southcentral Foundation departments as needed. This position may also have opportunities to share addiction treatment and MAT knowledge through presentations, preceptorship/shadowing, and other activities within and outside of the Tribal health system. The Addiction Physician may also be asked to serve on various committees/workgroups when an addiction subject matter expert is required.
