What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipeline Construction Operator position at SCG, LLC?
The Pipeline Construction Operator will assist with the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas/construction projects with knowledge, skill and experience to operate heavy equipment. This position will assist the Foreman/Supervisor with all duties and be capable of working outside in various weather conditions.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Operate heavy equipment and hand/power tools in safe, appropriate, and effective manner to minimize risk of damage and injury.
- Excavate and backfill within industry standards
- Work closely Foreman and crew while facilitating and supporting safety policies and procedures
- Daily preventative maintenance on all trucks and equipment
- Assist team by providing manual labor, preparation, and cleaning of job sites
- Ensure proper safety and compliance protocols are being followed
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk/stand for long periods of time
- Ability to assist in leading a crew of 1-6 individuals and be responsible for the daily activities of the crew while providing guidance to complete projects according to the Foreman’s timeline, budget, and direction
- May assist in documenting, reporting and submitting required daily paperwork
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years in operating heavy equipment
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record required
- Ability to travel throughout the Midwest and work 50 hours a week
- Dependable, reliable, and hard-working
- Previous natural gas pipeline experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment under limited to no supervision
