What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Staff Accountant position at Schaefer Advertising?

VISION

Schaefer Advertising Co. is looking for a senior accountant who is ready to work for a thriving private company that is experiencing exponential growth. The senior accountant position will be essential in assisting month-end closing procedures.  In this role, you will report to the Controller and work in a collaborative, team environment, providing support to a rapidly growing business.  Because this position will be managing others, we are looking for a person that has excellent leadership and people skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Monthly financial worksheets and reports used to determine monthly revenue recognition
  • Monthly forecast reports using Revenue Schedules in Function Point (company software)
  • Prepare Month-End Journal Entries
  • Manage Fixed Asset Report
  • Responsible for preparation and review of client billing using FunctionPoint & QuickBooks
  • Manage staff accountant and other junior accounting roles
  • Work with Account Service, Digital, and Production Teams on accounting for jobs and job status
  • Special Projects

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate knowledge of Excel required
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Ability to interact professionally with vendors, clients, and internal team to constructively resolve issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Seeks ways to improve upon accounting processes and procedures

 

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • At least 3-4 years of experience as a full cycle accountant encompassing monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and revenue recognition required
  • Marketing agency experience is a plus, but not required
