Overview:
Freight Coordinator - Full Time - Colorado Springs, CO

The Freight Coordinator works with the Lead Freight Cooridnator to facilitate the flow of product from the freight room to the right specialty shop. In addition, this associate works with lead Freight Coordinator to organize backroom freight and fixture storage. Preferred candidates have an energy and sense of urgency that matches the expectations of SCHEELS, while having fun at their work! Starting wage for this position can range from $16.00/hour.

The Essentials:
- Unload and organize product from the freight belt and elevators and coordinate its movement to the floor in less than 48 hours.
- Maintain efficient organization of both the 1st and 2nd Mezzanine by coordinating seasonal flex of back stock areas between shops.
- Managing storage of fixtures/components to maintain organization and discard unwanted fixtures
- Assess needs and assist 2nd Floor Support Associates and Shop Managers with freight and back stock organization in order to ensure each team can meet 48 hour expectation.
- Assist customers and sales people with retrieving and loading purchased product
- Maintain orderly appearance of personal work space and surrounding areas. General cleaning and organization around the store and back stock areas
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other associates of the organization
- Ability to be organized, multi-task and maintain all aspects of a support role
- Ability to work independently and with the team
- Exercise judgment and tact and be able to effectively work with all levels within the organization
- Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively and in a timely manner
- Ability to apply basic understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram
- Demonstrates attention to detail
- Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere, and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels’ policies and procedures

Expert Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree; and/or 1-3 months of experience
Activity:

Very heavy work – Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Schedule:
Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 6a.m. and 5p.m., Monday through Friday. Schedule may include varied hours and holidays and a weekend per month as needed. Average hours per week is 40 hours.
