Controller:
Schermerhorn Management Inc., the leading Residential Property Manager/Real Estate Construction Contractor based in Queensbury NY is seeking to hire a full-time, detail-oriented Controller with a minimum of five years’ experience in accounting.
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate has a positive “can do” demeanor, works independently, is highly organized and can carefully follow established accounting related protocols & procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Strong values and high ethics, Superior interpersonal skills - Team player
- Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), public accounting experience helpful but not required.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and Property Boss a plus.
Controller Responsibilities Include:
- Financial Statements
- Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Forecasting
- Work with external CPA firm on audit and taxes
- Work with banks as needed for mortgages and projections
- Insurances
- Bank Reconciliations
- Vehicle registrations, DOT required reports and filings
- Prepare quarterly reporting as required
- Assist the real estate team, accounts receivable or accounts payable with other accounting duties when necessary
