Tool Crib Inventory Manager Job Description

Job Summary :

The tool Inventory Manager is responsible for cutting tools quotation, inventory control, replenishing stock, and vending machines.

Tools allocation and distribution per schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Analyze Inventory reports and ERP system data to determine purchasing needs.
• Place new orders with Supply chain.
• Review inventory.
• Perform stock inventory.
• Replenish production and vending machines inventory.
• Track and report overages and unscheduled requests.
• Track and report damaged or abused tools.
• Issue RFQ for tools and other procurement goods.
• Receive bids and make purchases.
• Follow up and manage the incoming delivery times.
• Identify corrective action remedies for defective or unacceptable goods or services.
• Gather and report supplier performance.
• Expedite orders, provide updates of schedule changes to production and engineering.
• Maintain records of purchases, receipts and inventory levels using ERP system, purchase orders, receiving logs and cycle counts.
• Handle vendor correspondence.
• Provide technical data to suppliers as needed.
• Maintain status of open purchase orders

Tool Crib Inventory Manager Necessary Education, Skills, and Competencies (including licensing and certifications) :

• Associate degree in supply chain management or related field (preferred, but not required)
• Proficient in Microsoft Suites such as word and excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively and with all areas of the organization.
• Prior experience or ability to learn to effectively use ERP and / or MRP system.
• Ability to learn reading engineering drawing and tools manufacturing specification.
• Critical thinking skills
• Must read and write English.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
