COMMERCIAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN  - As a Schmidt Security Commercial Service Technician you will be responsible for servicing and troubleshooting access control, IP-based and analog video management and other security systems.  Scope of duties include, but not limited to, troubleshooting and repair of electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary access-controlled door devices, IP and analog cameras,  video recording devices, wired and wireless networks, and intercom systems.   Close attention to details and able to document and communicate all repairs, as well as effectively communicate with customers.

Job Duties:

• Troubleshooting of cabling, card readers, door contacts, mag locks, electrified strikes, cameras, intrusion, and integrated systems.
• Functional understanding of low voltage systems, relays, principals of normally closed/normally open, series and parallel wiring.
• General understanding of network topology.
• Use a multi-meter to test for voltage, continuity, and resistance.
• Possess mechanical and computer skill and ability to effectively troubleshoot.
• Document and update work orders and customers in a timely manner.
• Experience with various brands of access control, CCTV, and other IP systems.

Experience Preferred

• At least 2 years of relevant security experience or equivalent, but preferably 5 or more years in relevant installation, service and configuration.
