JOB SUMMARY:

      • Product Owners are extremely versatile and are in the middle of it all when it comes to their assigned products or solutions.
      • This Job is specific as the Product Owner for Switches, for NEMA and IEC. This position is also the lead for our international portfolio. This is the heart of our ASCO Technology. In our team, Product Owners have primary roles such as this one, but also help support the entire portfolio and the construction of our roadmap, strategy, and technology development.
      • As a Product Owner you will be responsible for the product portfolio’s product management switches standpoint. You will lead the architecture of the product in our portfolio, for NEMA and IEC Series. You will help position and promote the offer by doing marketing analysis on our strengths and gaps.
      • In this job, on a day to day basis, you will analyze the business, investigate our opportunities, and prioritize our investment of R&D resources and teams. Most importantly, you will drive for growth leveraging our market position and install base, our power as global experts,
      • Product Owners are the keystone representing the business, technical, and application sides of their offers to the cross functional teams which are responsible for the successful development, launch, and life of products.
      • The Offer Manager is a champion for products they represent, with ownership and responsibility over the pricing, placement, promotion, and evolution for their products to make them as successful as possible.
      • Drive AGILE Development Principles as a leader of projects, helping prioritize the development path and features, quantify the benefits and efforts, and make decisions to drive customer value through product value propositions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide a clear Roadmap for Product Maintenance and Development. Drive and support our Sustainability Metrics and Efforts for improvements.
  • Our Customers are Internal and External, and in this job we need a key and clear roadmap of development to generate benefits and growth for our business.
  • Structure the Product R&D Processes including setting up new Squads, Capturing Business Cases, and Leading specific Projects for Development.
  • Develop New Product and Features; Determine Integrations and Transitions; Obsolescence and withdraw;
  • Optimize the offer with clear scope of development for the cross functional teams. Capturing Benefits, Value Propositions, Customer Use Cases, in order to derive sales and financial benefits as well as cost of development.
  • Understand the market considerations such as technology trends, applications, channel/segment dynamics as well as competitive pressure to properly create product strategies.
  • Sustain and grow an established Transfer Switch offer portfolio Take on ownership over the full lifecycle and performance of offers under your supervision.
  • Review pricing and profitability to maximize returns and identify areas of improvement.
  • Use product and customer knowledge to pinpoint areas for cost optimization.
  • Promote ASCO and its products by developing and executing launch, announcement, and marketing plans in collaboration with our marketing and sales team.
  • Seek out the Voice of Sales, Customers, Services and other stakeholders to carry back to development teams working to identify beneficial offer changes.
  • Develop business cases to summarize effort/costs vs proposed business and customer value for offer adaptations to drive prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Work with finance and supply chain teams to properly forecast product to ensure proper material/labor supply.
  • Generate and balance offer requirements based on business and customer needs.
  • Work with the Offer Management team, across Leagues and HUBS,  to continuously review portfolio fit of all offers and make optimizations as needed.
  • Communicate business details, product vision, and competitive updates to various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Take ownership and provide basic project management for prioritized offer initiatives to ensure they are driven and progress through the development process.
  • Some business travel may be required to visit customers, consulting engineers, and field offices and to participate at trade shows to promote growth of the product lines.
  • Qualifications Qualifications Ability to understand technical concepts and applications around power management, codes & standards, and electrical systems Understand business principles - profitability, margin, cost analysis Understand marketing principles - product positioning, pricing strategies, channel management Ability to travel up to 15% of time domestically as needed.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in engineering required; mechanical and/or electrical engineering preferred.
  • Candidates with business, marketing, or finance degrees with strong technical backgrounds may be considered.
  • 5 years prior technical experience in the power, controls, or electric distribution industry preferred.
  • 3 years experience and knowledge in product management, product development, applications, sales, or technical marketing preferred.
  • Interest in technical, business, and marketing principles with a desire to advance studies in those fields (MBA, MS in Engineering Mgmt).

  • Leadership of Cross Functional teams, with heavy ability to influence and convince executive members as well as individual contributors.
  • Collaborative skills to negotiate & support initiatives across different functional groups
  • Strong in data analysis using excel and/or other data sources
  • Clear Communication and presentations skills
  • Understanding of business strategy principles
  • Project management experience and ability to be actively involved in multiple projects
  • Financial acumen to assess new business opportunities Ability to influence Willingness to think outside-of-the-box
