Summary:
The Films and Fitments Supervisor will have a primary focus in injection molding, extrusion and films department by providing leadership, guidance and technical knowledge to department personnel. This position will maximize production, improve quality and safety of the shift utilizing available resources in support of the Films and Fitments operation. The Production Manager will serve as backup to this position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Utilize technical knowledge to resolve manufacturing problems, with an emphasis in Injection Molding, Films & Lamination.
- Initiate collaboration with operations, maintenance, and technical support personnel for day to day operations, on problems, and on process improvement initiatives.
- Promote workplace safety through performance of weekly shift safety meetings, weekly area safety audits and weekly safety Gemba walks.
- Investigate and complete safety incident reports including near miss, incidents to equipment or people.
- Effectively communicate significant business and production issues to Film & Fitments personnel through scheduled weekly shift meetings.
- Communicate and enforce high expectations of quality and production standards.
- Effectively lead root-cause improvement activities utilizing shift personnel.
- Recommends measures to improve equipment performance, and quality of product based on daily monitoring of visual production metrics.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Perform administrative duties competently as needed (ETime system, LN, Virtual Client, shift reports, performance evaluations, safety investigation reports, etc.).
- Support and reinforce three major areas of improvement opportunities: machine setups, process controls, and training.
- Develop talents of ABM shift personnel to maximize the benefit or the company and the individual employee.
- Initiate action on any food/product safety issue immediately. All staff has responsibility to correct or report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Directly supervises Films & Fitments employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Execute operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Review production and operating reports and resolve issues to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Manage projects directly and provide leadership to others on a resource basis as required.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting on projects and activities as required.
- Actively participate in meetings and planning activities with production departments as requested.

Education:
- High school diploma or G.E.D required.
- Bachelors’ degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
- Supervision, lean and ISO experience a plus, plastics industry preferred.
- Additional education in quality, safety, mechanical or electrical areas of knowledge preferred.
Work Experience and/or Skills:
- The ability to excel in a fast paced, high-energy environment with constant interface with people
- Knowledge of quality control procedures
- Good manufacturing practices and team development
- A minimum of 5 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education or experience preferred.
- Knowledge in Problem Solving (KT) & Project Management (KT)
- Experience with extrusion, injection molding, lamination, slitting is preferred.
