JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: ESOL Teacher - 25%
QUALIFICATIONS:
- NH ESOL teacher certification or proof of eligibility for NH certification
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Experience preferred but not required
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: The ESOL Teacher will provide instruction for the purposes of developing students’ ability to effectively perform courses of study in English and acquire the English language.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Plans, organizes, and provides support and/or instruction in collaboration with classroom teachers to allow English learners access the district’s instructional programs.
2) Administers academic and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating each student’s progress in meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition.
3) Maintains complete and accurate records of student’s progress and evidence of growth and progress.
4) Understands and complies with the policies, rules, and regulations regarding the English learners. Advocates for the program needs that are required to meet the learning needs of English learner.
5) Performs such other and not specifically enumerated duties as may be requested by the principal(s) and/ or Director of Special Services
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Jackson Contracted personnel policies.
WORK YEAR: 187 day / school year position
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Jackson School Board’s policy on Evaluation. The Principal and/or administrative designee will be the evaluator.
