JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB GOAL:
To develop and coordinate the District’s recruitment and retention program for instructional and support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) or more years of relevant experience, including.
- One (1) year of supervisory, management, or leadership experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or Human Resources related field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively, and to establish and maintain working relationships with district, school and other personnel. Ability to make logistical decisions in accordance with established procedures and to apply these to work problems; to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions. Ability to be flexible and open to working a flexible schedule as necessary. Ability to plan, organize and execute plans. Ability to develop and present presentation to a variety of audiences. Ability to develop a vision for the district’s recruitment and retention program. Ability to develop displays and other appropriate marketing materials.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and coordinate the district’s recruitment and retention program for instructional and support personnel.
- Establish and maintain an effective district recruitment and retention plan for minorities and critical shortage areas.
- Work collaboratively with Human Resources personnel on the certification of teachers.
- Develop marketing materials for recruitment and retention of personnel.
- Maintain and analyze recruitment and retention data and use data to develop comprehensive district plan.
- Project future district employment needs and develop plan to meet those needs.
- Work with school personnel to ensure that their staffing reflects the student population that they serve.
- Coordinate and participate in recruitment trips to selected colleges and universities, job fairs and other appropriate events.
- Publish analyzed data reports as necessary and appropriate.
- In consultation with the Director of Human Resources, recommend offers of advance contracts or binders for instructional personnel.
- Prepare recruitment displays and other marketing materials.
- Provide an annual report on the goals and activities included in a district recruitment and retention plan.
- Work with the Department of Professional Development and On-Boarding to assist with the orientation and retention of new teachers.
- Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.
- Demonstrate support for the school district and its goals and objectives.
- Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records.
- Serve as a local liaison with colleges and universities where recruitment is to take place.
- Develop the District Recruitment and Retention Plan.
- Maintain communications with other agencies and school districts to share and receive information of effective talent management, and general human resource services.
- Develop and implement a plan for exit interviews.
- Work with other district departments to plan, market, organize, and facilitate job fair events, including virtual events.
- Consistently monitor district substitute teacher vendor for fill rate and budget limits.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
