Description

School Family Media (Colorado Springs, CO & Wrentham, MA) is seeking an experienced IT Manager who has the technological skills to make us even more efficient. This person will lead our IT department, analyze current systems and assets, recommend and implement solutions and upgrades, provide training, and support our technology infrastructure and teams. The IT manager will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our operations and a long-term impact on our overall growth.
We are looking for a candidate who is well-versed in working with issues from desktop support all the way to integration and optimization of enterprise software, driving innovation and process improvements throughout.

Reports to: COO
Supervises: Scheduler
Location: Position may be based out of Colorado Springs, CO or Wrentham, MA
Headquarters: 100 Stonewall Blvd, Ste 3, Wrentham, MA 02093
Warehouse/2nd Office: 8605 Explorer Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80920
Travel 20% or as needed.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or other related field or equivalent experience.

Required Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience as an IT Manager or similar role in a corporate environment.

Salary:
Full-Time, Salaried/Exempt $75K - $85K commensurate with experience

IT Infrastructure Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day hardware, software, and network management needs of the company.
  • Develop and execute IT policies, procedures, and security protocols, disaster planning, to safeguard company data and assets.
  • Maintain a list of IT systems and bring ideas to add/merge/remove systems over time.
  • Work with IT vendors and contractors to supplement your efforts and ensure cost-effective and reliable technology services.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Prepare cost–benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary, and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best-possible service and value for business needs.
User Support:
  • Customize systems and platforms to improve user experience and productivity.
  • Train employees to use software and hardware; troubleshoot issues and provide technical support, addressing IT-related inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Implement and oversee an effective helpdesk system to track and manage user requests efficiently.
  • Oversee the purchasing, retirement, and tracking of computers, servers, phones and other equipment.
Collaboration
  • Direct and organize IT projects including the implementation of new technologies.
  • Oversee basic website enhancements and troubleshooting and collaborate with the Software Engineering team on projects with overlapping requirements.
  • Help with basic reporting tasks or information audits, including occasional third-party security assessments.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to leverage our existing systems, assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company’s network, streamline our processes within those systems, e.g., improving our usage of the features of NetSuite, HubSpot, Freshdesk, Klaviyo, etc.
  • Help manage an IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 administration, including security and best practices.
  • Knowledge of business IT systems and infrastructure, including ERP, CRM, eCommerce, etc.
  • Experience with NetSuite helpful, but not required.
  • Comfort working with outside vendors or contractors as needed.
  • Knowledge of IT best practices, policies and regulations
  • A clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture
  • Good communication, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail.
