Holy Child seeks an experienced history teacher for a part-time (80%) or full-time position, to be determined by the school based upon the successful candidate's experience and/or preference. This multi-grade position may include world history, middle school U.S. history, economics, and international relations/Model U.N. Ideal candidates are passionate educators who value interdisciplinary teaching and creative learning experiences.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach four (.8, part-time) or five (full-time) sections of history; provide academic support for students outside of class time, as needed
- Evaluate students’ growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare narrative reports
- Work with the Learning Center to support students with learning differences
- Collaborate with the history department and humanities colleagues to design/map curriculum, create interdisciplinary opportunities for learning, share resources, and evaluate effective methods of teaching; participate in regular meetings with the Department Chair
- Engage with new technologies and methodologies for teaching and assessing
- Show a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion work
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with every member of the community: students, families, and colleagues alike
- Communicate regularly and effectively with Division Head, the Dean, advisors, and the Learning Center about student progress
- Attend and participate in parent conferences and major school events
- Participate in grade-level and school-wide meetings, as needed
- Support the students and division by covering study halls, lunch duties and other assignments, as needed
- Work with students in Grades 5-12 through clubs/teams or advisory, as needed
- Engage in professional development opportunities and the professional growth process of the school

Qualifications
- A minimum of a B.A. in history or education required; an M.A. in history or M.A. in the teaching of social studies is preferred
- Strong content knowledge and a range of pedagogical approaches that will help students develop critical thinking skills and understand the relationship between the past and the present
- A minimum of three years experience teaching history; versatility in the ability to teach standard and advanced U.S and global courses
