For our Risk Management Team in Zurich we are looking for a highly motivated Investment Risk Manager. This person will be responsible to identify, assess, measure, monitor and challenge investment risks with a specific focus on Insurance Linked Securities (ILS).

Job specification
- Identify, assess, measure, monitor and challenge risks (market, liquidity, credit, operational, etc) in the products managed by Schroders with the main focus on Insurance Linked Securities.
- Ensuring independent investment risk and performance oversight including that risk controls and risk monitoring are fit for purpose, and that issues identified are resolved / escalated in a timely manner
- Responsible that new products are mapped to a product risk profile to ensure that appropriate controls are established, and that risk profiles remain up to date throughout the market and product lifecycle
- Monitoring adherence to risk limits and ensuring that products are in line with their mandates and agreed risk profiles
- Ensure independent oversight of ESG / climate change risks and the production of risks reports
- Reporting on breaches, exceptions and trend analysis to relevant stakeholders
- Provide oversight of the investment process for private ILS transaction as observer in the ILS Investment Committees
- Act as Secretary of the ILS Risk & Performance Committee and prepare material for the Private Assets Risk & Performance Committee
- Member of the ILS Valuation Working Group
- Reviewing and analysing risk and performance trends as well as stress test results, identifying potential issues and escalating them to the relevant stakeholders
- Providing thematic risk reviews and analysis, recommendations and reports
Required profile
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the financial services industry, preferably with exposure to the ILS, insurance or reinsurance market
- University degree in banking, finance, economics or other quantitative fields, ideally combined with a CFA, FRM, PRM or CAIA
- Strong analytical mind-set and ability to understand, assess and explain complexity
- Understanding of the ILS and or the reinsurance / alternative risk transfer markets a big plus
- Fluency in English is essential, German a big plus, other languages a benefit
- Knowledge of our risk systems (Aladdin®, Touchstone ReTM) is a plus, along with skills in Bloomberg, Thomson Reuter Eikon, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Python, R, SQL and VBA
- Team player willing to take full ownership of his/her tasks and area of responsibility
- Solution oriented with a pragmatic approach and readiness to work closely with colleagues and stakeholders, internally and externally
