Schulhof Animal Hospital is an independently owned, full-service facility, integrating both traditional and complementary companion animal medicine as well as providing boarding, grooming, and dog training. We are located in the lovely suburban shore town of Westport, CT. We have four doctors, 17 support staff, 9000 sq. ft. facility with location, location and plenty of free parking, five minutes from both the Merritt Parkway and US 95 and only ¾ hour from New York City and New Haven. As a Veterinary Technologist you can make use of the latest digital equipment, including digital full body and digital dental x-ray, digital EKG, gas anesthesia, anesthesia monitoring equipment, fluid pumps, ultrasound, and Class IV Laser, as well as an in-house lab, and are further supported by trained Veterinary Assistants and a dedicated Reception staff.
Preference will be given to a LVT or CVT or equivalent, but we will train. A fully trained Veterinary Technologist will be able to do intradermal, i.m. and i.v. injections, administer intraperitoneal fluids, perform blood draws, place catheters, operate iv fluid pumps, do bandage changes, intubate and monitor anesthesia, do surgical prep and surgical assisting, perform dental prophylaxis (under anesthesia), perform radiology (digital), do Class IV laser treatments, operate in-hospital laboratory chemistry and blood analysis machines, do animal restraint, exam assisting & client education, and make up in-hospital and go-home medications.
