Schunk Xycarb Technology (SXT), Inc. in Georgetown, Texas is growing and seeking a CNC/Manual Machinist for our U.S. Operations in Georgetown, Texas facility. These positions are full-time and will be eligible for all Xycarb benefits. Sign-on bonus included in benefits package.
The CNC/Manual Machinist has a broad variety of different tasks to perform. The primary role is to make quality quartz products and parts meeting customer's specifications using quartz machining techniques.
Shift is Monday – Friday 5:00am to 1:30pm or 6:00am to 2:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ability to operate Horizontal Lathes and CNC Bandsaw proficiently
- Ability to operate Blanchard Grinders and Radial drill proficiently
- Heavy lifting involved (up to 50lbs)
- Initial setup of work offsets and tooling offsets
- Comprehensive understanding of machine and tooling for required surface finishes and correct stock removal as well as identifying tool ware
- Understand basic G & M code
- Understanding of GD&T and how this relates to the product/print specifications
- Ability to measure parts and (visually) inspect surface condition using various measuring tools
- Ability to inspect parts and compensate tool diameter and height to meet print specification
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers assorted gages and optical comparator
- Ability to understand Work Instructions and SOP's
- Ability to read routers and log time in SAP
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5S
- Recognition of time management for optimal spindle efficiency
- Team orientation to ensure smooth transition to all shifts
- Basic tool crib management
- Handle other miscellaneous duties as needed

Education and Experience:
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of work experience with automated and semi-automated equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Formal vocational training in manufacturing/machining a plus
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
Physical Requirements:
- Job requires bending, stooping, walking, sitting, and reaching overhead
- Manufacturing environment; may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts and exotic materials
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods of time
- Working with hazardous materials that require the operator to take great care at all times
- PPE must be worn at all times, this includes but is not limited to appropriate gowning, coat, mask, gloves, and feet booties
- Able to work overtime
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must pass pre-employment testing.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
