Schuster Concrete is seeking to hire a Concrete Batcher.
Job Description:
This is a position requiring a thorough understanding of the ready mix concrete business. Batch Operator controls the process to produce concrete from raw ingredients and additives according to predetermined specifications using computer batching software. Batchers verify correct admixtures are used in correct dosages and provide verification that the concrete batched meets the specifications established by the company and customer. This position requires day to day interaction with management.
Job Duties & Responsibilities include:
- The daily production of concrete using an automated Hensco system
- Must be able to produce concrete products to required specifications
- Verify each load for yardage, mix, added products and all other quality information
- Ability to perform moderately complex mathematical equations as applicable
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Receive and inspect raw materials
- Keep required records and logs
- Maintenance of Batching Plant (dust collector, bag house, silo filters, checking oil and fuel of the plant)
- Daily periodic inspection of the plant
- Assist in cleaning and repair of each plant (load lane and load hood and boots)
- Ensure the batching plant area is kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times
- Monitor inventories in the plant (cement, flash, admixtures)
- Thorough working knowledge of computer/batching system
- Define problems, collect data and communicate with management.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s policies including Health & Safety, MDE
- Other reasonable duties as requested by management.
