The Royal Group, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a Prepress/Designer for our Seymour, IN facility. As a Prepress/Designer, you will be responsible for creating final production masters, art approvals and ordering all necessary tooling to complete orders
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Review incoming purchase orders and current quotes to verify all information is accurate
- Create final, accurate, thorough factory masters for tooling layout and production departments
- Coordinate art approvals by working with outside vendors and production
- Knowledge of various production equipment limitations
- Work directly with estimating and production when doing layouts for machine efficiencies
- Order tooling and print plates
- Knowledge of and comfort using Windows, MS Office, Adobe and Illustrator
- Knowledge of Esko Enterprise software is helpful. Training available
- Knowledge of industry specific CAD software Artios preferred
- Knowledge of available converting board and material characteristics
- Knowledge of how costing/routing/efficiencies can have an effect on orders
- Part time design based on current needs within the department
- Create designs based on customer needs and production capabilities
- Create samples of designs and coordinate customer approval
- Implement, maintain, and support company policies and procedures, including safety programs and good housekeeping
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to work overtime as the job requires
- Additional duties as assigned
- High school graduate or equivalent with related college education or heavy college coursework in the field of computers, CAD/drafting or applicable work experience
- Preferred that employees have prior work experience in the corrugated industry or other 2-4 years’ work experience and knowledge of corrugated production and converting machinery.
- General knowledge of corrugated production and converting machinery
- May be required to maintain a current Forklift Operator license
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate; ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry; ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills with customers and employees; ability to lead meetings competently and respond to questions. Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, operating instructions, and training and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, emails and correspondence clearly and effectively
- Ability to apply proper understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to solve a variety of problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited information or standardization exists
