Job Title: Retail Data Analyst
Reports to: Sr. Director Data Analytics
Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Locations: Denver, CO
Salary Range: $55K - $65K
Position Objective:
The Retail Data Analyst position is responsible for reporting all financial aspects of a Business Unit with an initial focus on merch/product and supply chain. Responsibilities include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Position reports organization’s finances to managements and offers advice about resource utilization and assumptions underlying budgets/forecasts. This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks and works independently under general supervision receiving guidance on unusual complex problems or issues.
Essential Functions:
- Design predictive data models using statistical solutions
- Work with business analysts to manage the “Data lake”. Create ad-hoc reports and dashboards using SQL and PowerBI
- Develop and manage regular key performance metrics reporting and tracking
- Provide insights and root cause analysis to inform executive decision making and assist with daily operations
- Build visualizations that help various stakeholders understand complex topics
- Automate or streamline existing reporting and processes using powerful analytics tools
- Anticipate new reporting / analytical needs as business needs evolve
Learning Path:
Month 1 - 3
- Creation and maintenance of database (SQL – Amazon Redshift/Azure)
- Work with Data Governance and Data Quality team to ensure compliance with standards.
- Perform business analysis in Excel – knowledge of KPIs and interpretation of results
- Build schema in PowerBI to optimize dashboards/reports (Merging/joining/etc.)
- Learn advanced DAX queries and basic queries in PowerQuery (language: M)
- Problem solving and meeting deadlines/goals (Time Management)
- Teamwork/collaboration and communication skills
Month 4 - 5
- Build schema in PowerBI to optimize dashboards/reports (Merging/joining/etc.)
- Perform business analysis in PowerBI
- Project management skills
- Identification of business needs and analytical/critical thinking
Month 6
- Implementation of models in Python using Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, etc.
- Data and trends interpretation/patterns identification in complex data sets
- Strategic thinking and implementation of strategies

Schedule will Vary Depending on the needs of the business (Nights, Weekends, Holidays included)
Travel from 10-20% of total time: Based on company growth
