What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Brand Manager position at Schweid & Sons?
We are looking for:
A well-rounded, passionate, motivated Brand Builder, who is seeking a challenging yet rewarding role within a fast-growing food company whose mission is to produce the highest quality products and is committed to innovation and continuous improvement.
The Senior Brand Manager will be responsible for building a viable base business in new market segments / categories based on consumer insights, strategic fit, go-to-market strategy and technical capabilities to achieve P&L goals. This person will also be responsible for the creation, development and definition of a long-term vision including a strategic roadmap that includes the scope and cadence of an innovation pipeline. This role is critical in helping to shape the growth trajectory for the company.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with VP, Marketing & Innovation to create new, forward-thinking concepts rooted in insights and business needs and foster an internal “culture of innovation”
- Expand brand into new territories, i.e. new consumers, new usage occasions, based on a deep understanding and analysis of consumer insights and unmet needs, marketplace trends, competitive environment and customer interest
- Utilize data analytics (i.e. Nielsen, Consumer Research studies, syndicated data) to build business rationale for new product launches and prove out a winning consumer value proposition
- Lead stage-gate commercialization process from front-end sandbox to launch, partnering with Process / Technical Leads; strong ability to manage stakeholders, influence cross-functionally, and pivot when needed to deliver final products on strategy, on time and on budget
- Work closely with Sales Team to develop go-to-market plans and customer success
- Introduce new approaches / methodologies to improve internal processes
- Lead consumer / competitive / internal capability immersions and extract takeaways / insights for both close-in renovation and further-out platform and new capability innovation
- Manage one direct report (a junior brand manager on the team)

You have…
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Related Field
- MBA preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of innovation / brand/ product marketing experience
- At least 3 years of experience in new products / innovation from pipeline development to commercialization preferred
- Previous experience in CPG and/or CPG food industry preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Passion for building and marketing brands
- Analyzing data to gain insights and make recommendations on actions is a strength; Experience with Nielsen / IRI data is a must
- Strong project management skills
- Entrepreneurial; demonstrated ability to identify, design, and build new lines of business
- Positive, team-oriented approach with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and build solid working relationships at all levels
- Commitment to excellence with high quality standards and attention to detail
- Balance strategic rigor with willingness to roll up sleeves and get it done
- Demonstrated ability to achieve KPIs/ business goals
