What are the responsibilities and job description for the Science Summer Camp Instructor position at Science Explorers?
Join our team as a Summer Science Camp Instructor and inspire the next generation of scientists! We are seeking passionate and energetic individuals to lead hands-on experiments and activities for children ages 4-12. Our one week stand alone camps usually run Monday to Friday. Full day and half day camps vary by location and topic. Materials, curriculum, and training are provided. Two instructors are scheduled per week for each location. Reliable transportation is required. There will be additional time necessary for prep and cleaning up at the beginning and end of the day, typically an hour before camp on Monday, 1/2 hour the rest of the week and time after camp to clean and prep for the next day.
- Commitment is essential. It is of the UTMOST importance that you stick to the schedule for the full week of camp.
- This is a part-time independent contractor position. With the opportunity to work just one week of camp to working multiple weeks.
- Some experience working with children experience is required.
- There will be a required, paid training in June.
- Up-to-date background checks, first aid, CPR are required prior to the start of camp.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Must be able to be at the camp location as early as 1 hour prior to the children arriving and be able to stay after the children have left to tidy the room and prep for the following day.
- Pay is as follows: Lead instructors – Full Day: $600 per week, Half Day: $325 per week. Assistant instructors – Full day: $475 per week, Half Day: $275 per week. Pay for short weeks is prorated.
