What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cat position at Scion Staffing?
Calling all cat and kitten lovers! Scion Nonprofit has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Animal Care Coordinator for our client, a wonderful adoption based Nonprofit organization that serves the Ann Arbor area! In this adoption center-based role, you’ll ensure that animals in the center are receiving excellent daily care with a focus on their health! This role is a great fit for passionate animal lover with an affinity for cats and management experience looking to take the next step in their career, a vet tech looking for a new role, or someone looking to leave the corporate world and focus on their passion for animals! This is a full time, 40 hours a week, direct hire, onsite role in Ann Arbor!

What you will be doing : Hands on and with volunteers, ensure site cats are well cared for ever day; including cleaning, feeding, medicating as necessary, maintaining a healthy weight and have a low level of stressOversight of volunteers to ensure quality cat careUtilize techniques to help calm animalsEnsure the animal population onsite remains at a steady level, working with the main site to transfer new animals in for adoption as neededDocument and communicate notes / changes for each animal in shelter softwareDevelop and continually enhance policies and procedures that improve site operationsWork with a diverse population of volunteers, staff, and potential adopters
What you will need : Passion for animal welfare, health and wellness. Hands on small animal care experience is a strong plusAffinity for cats!Experience managing staff or volunteersExcellent communication, written and verbalAttention to detailPassion to be an effective liaison of the organization’s mission to care for animalsAvailable for a flexible schedule, might require some evenings / weekends
