Your day.


 


As an Associate Occupational Health RN PRN LMC you need to know how to:


 



  • Develop and implement health and safety programs.

  • Document all employee injuries and illnesses within the workplace.

  • Observe and assess the work environment for potential dangers and hazards.

  • Treat injuries and illnesses for employees, including follow-ups and referrals.

  • Oversee and implement Associate Health emergency and disaster preparedness programs and planning in collaboration with the Incident command team.

  • Counsel employees on physical and mental health issues and guiding them toward community resources and/or employee assistance programs.

  • Monitor the health status of employees.

  • Conduct research on the effects of hazardous work conditions or workplace exposures, which may include gathering data and reporting findings to the employer.

  • Perform general administrative and patient care tasks in accordance with the Scope of Practice, and other established policies and procedures.

  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multidisciplinary care team.

  • Required to draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.

  • Required to collect samples for drug screening.

  • Perform routine tests including but not limited to hearing and vision screens.

  • Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follow up as appropriate to ensure completion of testing.

  • Communicate test results to patients and establish a plan of care in person, by phone or mail as directed by the provider.

  • Document patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.

  • Stock patient exam rooms while maintaining cleanliness and organization, and dispose of contaminated items according to protocol.

  • Escalate non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager and/or healthcare provider(s).

  • Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.

  • Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.

  • Works and maintains the front office/desk for the department.

  • Answer the phone in a courteous and timely manner.

  • Maintains appointments.

  • Maintains the associate charts: pulls deletions, makes new charts, and files.

  • Processes associate transfers and immunization records.

  • Data entry into various SCL Health data systems.

  • Processes billing and invoices of the department which includes contact with vendors and internal accounts payable.

  • Process I-9 (Front Range Hospitals, CO only)

  • Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competence and qualifications) based on business need


 


Your experience.


 


We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:


 



  • Associate degree of nursing.

  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State in which employed

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.

  • Successful completion of an approved DOT collector qualification training program and proficiency demonstration within 6 months of hire.

  • Two (2) years of ambulatory and/or hospital nursing experience.


 


Preferred:





  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

  • Certification, Occupational Health.

  • Certification, Certified Case Management.

  • Two (2) years’ experience in Occupational Health, Workman’s Compensation, disability management, safety, and infection prevention.

  • Knowledge of OSHA, Center for Disease Control (CDC), Substance Abuse testing standards, Workman’s Compensation Law, and ADA-EEOC.
