ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs, analyzes, and interprets microbiological testing of finished products, stability samples, raw materials, and environmental samples according to USP (or other) requirements.
- Assists with the preparation of isolates for identification.
- Prepares microbiological media.
- Collects microbial samples as required.
- Maintains a clean, organized laboratory environment including daily logs and sample tracking.
- Updates spreadsheets with appropriate data.
- Responsible for comprehensive recording of test results.
- Maintains proper notebook documentation.
- Performs other duties as required.
Other Qualifications
To be successful in this position the ideal candidate must be:
- Must be able to complete all required documentation (includes, but is not limited to, batch records, log books, notebooks, raw data (charts, graphs, scans, etc.), validation protocols, labels and cGMP-related forms).
- Detail oriented
- Self-Starter, team player
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Comfortable working independently and within a team environment
- Strong personal integrity
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors (B.S.) in Microbiology, Biology or Biological Sciences
OR
- Bachelors (B.S.) in a field not related to Biology with 3 years of bench work in cGMP lab
- Lab Knowledge (college or work setting)
- Work independently with minimal direction
- Schedule flexibility - "On Call weekends"
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years in cGMP lab environment
- Aseptic technique
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures in the field of microbiology
