Position Summary:
The Document control specialist is responsible to provide technical support aid in research and development and regulatory activities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Create ingredient statements and nutritional label information and validate for accuracy and compliance to regulations
- Create product specifications for new items and update current item specifications as needed
- Maintain ingredient documentation to ensure all are up to date and within Sconza compliance
- Submit new products for Kosher certification
- Produce internal packaging specifications for the packaging department
- Create and ensure regulatory compliance for product case labels
- Aid in the inspection of incoming packaging materials for compliance to all company and customer specifications. This includes label accuracy checks on new orders of packaging materials
- Support customer specific requests for documentation
- Special data entry projects
- Support lab function in regards to inventory, work orders, schedule and documentation.
- Provide audit support work such as record keeping, inspections, verifications, and aid in validation work
- Manage product documents and ensure all are up to date with current regulations and requirements
- Understand and comply with all HACCP and CGMP requirements and processes
- Understand and comply with RSPO and organic programs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or State issued Equivalency
- Experience in data entry and documentation required
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment a plus
- Experience with food regulations a plus
- Ability to learn and research new rules and regulations
- Analytical ability to research, identify, and resolve issues
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a team
- Organized with attention to detail
- Requires excellent oral, written, and communication skills
- Requires operation knowledge of computer software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Sage, Genesis etc.)
- Ability to be flexible (shifts, days, and hours)
The pay for this role in the state of CA ranges from $20.00 to $22.00 an hour based on years of experience, position responsibilities and geographic location.
