What you'll do
Within the production environment, you will contribute to the manufacturing and testing of prototypes featuring the pioneering Scout design and functionalities. Additionally, you will play a decisive role in transferring the lessons learned to the later pre-series and series production line. In your role you will report to the Senior Director Test & Special Vehicle Build.
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Technical and disciplinary leadership of a vehicle build team in prototype area
- Ramp up, leading, and steering of Assembly for the inhouse Test & Special Vehicle Build through entrepreneurial action and target agreements with Senior Director Test & Special Vehicle Build
- Directly responsible for 3rd party contracts for engineering, technical services, and construction of build equipment and fixtures
- Secure concept for early training and formation of SCOUT production personnel as preparation for tasks in series production
- Responsible for tracking KPIs such as cost and budget planning, quality attainment and sustainability, volume, and timing
- Responsible for production capacity planning of the vehicle build mix
- Build preparation: Checking the build documentation and developing proposals for continuous process improvement
- Safeguard the documentation of the installed parts' status and the quality of the implemented joining technology
- Responsible for the evaluation of part status reports, analysis of parts and processes, and derivation of measures for quality improvement
- Responsible for optimization steps in the build process and operations in cooperation with Process Planning, Product Planning, R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production
- Instructing overarching recording and preparation for approval of repair solutions and deviating build-ins
- Responsible for the on-time delivery of status-accordant parts to the installation sites in cooperation with R&D and Logistics
- Design and optimization of the interface between Logistics and Prototype Build
- Reporting and cross-departmental coordination on the vehicle build status to higher-level decision meetings
- Collaboration with local training centers and technical institutions (planned)
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- 7 years of professional experience in automotive production and manufacturing/prototype production environment
- 5 years of progressive experience in building and managing teams
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related fields
- Strong understanding of production environment and affinity to work with complex systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $145,000-$165,000
