Scripps Health IRB oversees approximately 900 research projects that include biomedical, social, behavioral and basic bench science projects. The IRB Analyst will partner with one other analyst and one coordinator to process IRB submissions, facilitate IRB meetings ,etc.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Functions as a liaison between the Scripps Institutional Review Board and the organization, investigators, and research staff.
- Analyzes incoming submissions for accuracy and inclusion of all required documentation/information.
- Responsible for executing IRB meetings from planning to writing meeting minutes with minimal supervision.
- Acts as a voting member of the IRB and as an IRB Officer to conduct expedited review of minimal risk studies and signature authority for official IRB documents.
- Acts as a resource for investigators from Scripps and the Scripps Research Institute to ensure compliance with all applicable institutional, state, and federal regulations governing research with human subjects.
- Other responsibilities include training research staff on regulatory documentation and iMedRIS software/IRB submissions, providing onboarding to new investigators/residents/fellows, assisting the IRB Supervisor with conducting internal continuous quality improvement audits as needed, and assisting in preparing for audits by regulatory agencies or commercial sponsors.
This is a full time hourly position located in San Diego, CA.
